Meaning of Sala Pulesa

1. Calm down. Sala Pulesa is a satirical or humorous way to ask someone to relax, cool down or chill a bit especially when they are too excited or over react. It is a common slang but was popularised recently by popular musician Mun G in his song by the same name and Pepsi ad campaign.

2. In Luganda, Sala Pulesa directly translates to “cut down on the pressure”.

Example:

Mwana toyaka nnyo, sala pulesa.

Can you imagine she was getting late for the movie and when I called her she told me, “sala pulesa”?
