Young and talented ‘This Is Us’ actor Niles Fitch will be making Disney history as he will be the first-ever black prince character in an upcoming film by the Mouse House.
The 18-year-old actor who starred as the younger version of Sterling K. Brown’s character on the popular NBC series plays Prince Tuma in the new Disney + sci-fi fantasy film “Secret Society of Second-Born Royals.”
The role makes Niles Fitch Disney’s first black, live-action prince character ever.
The film tells the story of a rebellious princess who is stunned to learn that she has superpowers and belongs to a secret society with a longstanding tradition of covertly keeping the peace throughout the kingdom.
Niles Fitch makes Disney history as the first black prince character
Niles made his television debut with a guest appearance in Tyler Perry’s House of Payne, followed by a recurring role in Season 7 of Army Wives. His role as Randall Pearson in NBC series This Is Us also won him an ensemble Screen Actors Guild Award.
Fitch is also set to star in upcoming films ‘If Not Now, When?’ and ‘Miss Virginia’. Reports of the young star being as the possible choice for the role of Prince Tuma were first announced in May 2019.
Secret Society of Second-Born Royals is a science fantasy film directed by Anna Mastro, with the screenplay co-written by Alex Livak and Andrew Green, based on an original story by Litvak, Green, and Austin Winsberg. It’s starring Peyton Elizabeth Lee, Olivia Deeble, Ashley Liao, and Skylar Astin.
