Disney had hinted on releasing the anticipated teaser live action trailer for the Lion King on Thanksgiving Day and to our delight ladies and gentlemen, the reports weren’t fake.
Disney revealed the Lion King live action trailer a few hours ago to the world and its amazingly good. The trailer unexpectedly aired during the Cowboys/Redskins football game blowing people’s minds away.
The live action trailer showcases one of the most icon scenes from the Lion King franchise when Rafiki, the baboon presents the future king cub to his people which is pretty awesome and adorable. Not forgetting Hans Zimmer’s epic score and James Earl Jones’ steady narration as he reprises his role as Mufasa.
The Lion King animation was a success for Disney raking in $766 million worldwide at the box office to become the highest-grossing animated feature of all time. It has been a money making project for over 24 years now and it comes with no surprise that we are getting a live action movie soon.
The Lion King hits theaters July 19, 2019, 25 years after the original animated feature’s release.
