Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them Movie Review

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is one of the hottest movies of 2016 scripted by J.K Rowling, directed by David Yates and starring Eddie Redmayne, Collin Farell, Ezra Miller. That is oozing awesomeness already before we even get down to the deets.

The movie is about the text book in the Harry Potter novels and movies which talks about the magical creatures that the writer, Newt Scamander has studied or collected in his different encounters around the world.

David Yates makes this movie beautiful by pulling in his experience from directing the first four Harry Potter movies. It is set in a pre-Harry Potter period and starts in the 1920’s New York city with the old golden sets such as a gothic Manhattan.

Newt has barely arrived in New York with his crazy leather bag that by the way looks small and normal on the outside but is an entirely magical gigantic world on the inside, but he is already in trouble with America’s Magical Congress (MACUSA) and facing no-majs (no-magicians, groups of normal humans that hate magicians).

He is nevertheless assisted by the much disgraced officer from MACUSA to find and return the beasts that have escaped from his bag when it got switched with Jacob’s such as the large rhino tearing up New York. (A cliche of late, every director just loves to rip New York to shreds in their movies)

Very hopeless naming on the side of the Americans compared to the British versions, it might be an intended pun of the already existing British-American drama.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is an amazing movie, it will keep you on your toes and at the edge of your seat, it is extremely funny without too trying too hard to be so.

This has already been proven by its high climb to be among the top 5 movies on the Box Office this previous weekend and it has already raked in more than $500m in its first weeks. No wonder it was already planned for five sequels.

It is a great movie to watch, we loved it and we think you will too.
