Lucifer is getting a season 5 and fans can’t wait to watch their favourite devil take the Los Angeles streets back with his dashing looks and naughty behaviour but this time around something is amiss.
The Lucifer trailer is a showcase for part 1 of season 5, but everything kinda feels a little different in this one and it turns out that the man behind the chaos is actually Lucifer’s twin, Michael, who loves to mess things up.
By the end of season 4 (spoiler alert), Lucifer (Tom Ellis) had left Los Angeles leaving behind his sweet and cute detective friend Chloe behind so as to make his return to hell, however, all that happened just right after she had told him she loved him.
After the departure, this left Chloe hurt and now she is throwing herself into work more than ever while partying hard with Maze though it is clear she misses Lucifer a lot.
“We don’t need him,” Maze tells her until suddenly, everything takes a new twist when her crush, Lucifer makes a miraculous return. Lucifer and Chloe share a steamy kiss upon their reunion.

In the trailer, Lucifer says he got a “bit bored” in Hell, and he’s officially Lucifer 2.0. Chloe notices that Morning Star is “acting different” and he claims how his stay in hell has changed him into a better man after being there for thousands of years.

But that’s far from the truth, as it turns out that it’s not Lucifer at all but rather his twin brother called Michael, he tells Maze. “I am not gonna break Lucifer’s life. I’m gonna take it,” says Michael who vows to destroy his brother’s life in the trailer. “Welcome home. How do you like the mess I made?” Michael asks his brother after he returns home.
Fans are going to go crazy now that there are two Lucifer’s in the building, more like two sexy Tom Ellis’. Lucifer season 5A will launch Aug. 21 on Netflix with season 5B set to premiere at a later date.
Netflix officially renewed the series for a sixth and final season in June 2020.
