After season 1 was deemed a success, Peacock has decided to move forward with another season for Twisted Metal, something the fans are very happy about given how popular the Sony video game franchise was.
Of course, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’s Anthony Mackie and Brooklyn Nine-Nine’s Stephanie Beatriz will be returning to their roles as we prepare to see what happens next as the major players set out for a new inter-city tournament, with Mackie’s John being forced to drive for San Francisco by Raven (Neve Campbell).
The popular TV show, which is an adaptation based on Sony’s hit video game franchise of the same name was released in July 2023 to much acclaim, with the series becoming Peacock’s most-watched comedy premiere not forgetting some intense action scenes to top it off.
It was during this year’s The Game Awards after the TV show was nominated for Best Adaptation that Mackie announced that Twisted Metal had been greenlit for season 2. Showrunner, Michael Jonathan Smith also confirmed the reports with a statement thanking fans while Peacock released its announcement video featuring the character Sweet Tooth to seal the deal.
