UG Cranes Coach Resigns In Dramatic Fashion

Uganda Cranes coach, Micho has called it quits on the team citing misunderstandings concerning salary. Coach Milton Sredojevich confirmed that he is quitting the Uganda national football team at press conference this Saturday.

Micho told the press at Kabira country club in Kampala, that he has upto nine offers waiting for him and also made it clear he ain’t going to Libya but rather he didn’t confirm whether he will be heading to Orlando Pirates in South Africa or Zamalek in Egypt.

The Serbian coach also said he will announce his next destination soon though he is still in talks with FUFA concerning his payment of arrears amounting to $64,000.

Micho posted this on his Twitter,

“Termination of the contract happened last night. I have not cheated, I have not stolen, but I have come here to clear the air, ” he said.

According to reports, FUFA hasn’t settled Micho’s pending arrears and that’s also one of the reasons he is leaving the national team.

He concluded the press conference with a prayer and are dramatic statement,  “It is not easy to be coach of Uganda. My agent and I had seven days of talks with FUFA but all yielded nothing,” Micho said.

“I have not been allowed to take Uganda to the World Cup. They succeeded to remove me.”

It’s really sad that our own football governing body couldn’t solve such a problem and now Uganda has lost a good coach. We wish him the best wherever he goes.
