Robert Vaughn was a great American actor most known for his spy role as Napoleon Solo in “The Man From U.N.C.L.E” NBC series which aired from 1964 – 68.
His manager confirmed that he died today morning at 7:30am American time while surrounded his family as he ended his battle with acute Leukaemia at 83 for which he has been receiving treatment in recent months in New York.

Robert has acted in other movies and shows such as “The Ten Commandments” in 1956. He was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for “The Young Philadelphians,” and played a gunman in the classic 1960 film “The Magnificent Seven.”
Just like in the recent 2015 “The Man From U.N.C.L.E” remake, Vaughn’s character teamed with a soft-spoken, Russian-born agent played by Scottish actor David McCallum.
The pair put aside Cold War differences to work together for the mysterious U.N.C.L.E. (United Network Command for Law and Enforcement) in combatting the international crime syndicate THRUSH.
It was very exciting since at the time spy movies were the hot thing on the block thanks to the popularity and thrill of the James Bond movies.
Vaughn and McCallum in 1983 came back again for the TV movie, “The Return of the Man From U.N.C.L.E.” where they were forced out of retirement to save the world again.
Robert also starred on the British series “Hustle,” playing Albert Stroller, the lone Yank in a band of London-based con artists. “Hustle” also aired later in the U.S. He was also in the TV Series “The A-Team.
