Wafula Appointed As Coach for Rwanda Rugby Team

Former Ugandan rugby player, Hubert Wafula has been appointed as the coach of the Rwanda national rugby team on a short term contract.

“We have hired him initially for two months so as to prepare the team for the fourth coming African rugby cup 1c competition in Zambia and we have high expectations from him.”

Tharcisse Kamanda the local rugby federation secretary general was quoted as saying.

Wafula is a former national team captain who retired in 2003 due to injury and he was once appointed as the Uganda Sevens coach after attending an International Rugby Board (IRB) coaching course in Cape Town.
