Lionel Messi, who made a big move to PSG in 2021 after leaving his long beloved home at the Nou Camp, Barcelona has been linked to another deal.
Reports state that Messi has been linked to a move within Saudi Arabia while his previous team in Spain are already gearing up for talks with the star with the hope of having him return to the Nou Camp though that is yet to be confirmed.
Despite having a successful career with PSG so far, with a total of 21 goals and 20 assists. The star had gained a huge following from PSG fans but unfortunately, the team’s head coach Christophe Galtier confirmed the news today which is definitely going to have a profound effect on the fans in France.
Galtier told the news outlets that the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner’s future at PSG will be coming to an end soon with Messi’s focus now shifted to other opportunities. “I had the privilege of coaching the best player in the history of football,” Galtier said on Thursday. “This will be his last match at the Parc des Princes, and I hope that he will receive the warmest of welcomes.”
The Argentian captain was supposed to have his initial two-year contract extended to £25m per year after tax, plus bonuses – by a further 12 months, but now, that will not now happen given the current mood.
“This year, he has been an important part of the team, always available. I don’t think any of the comments or criticisms are justified,” Galtier said. “He’s always been there for the team. It’s been a great privilege to accompany him throughout the season.”
Barcelona head coach Xavi is said to have called upon Barca’s top bosses to give Messi a deal and bring the star back to the Nou Camp this summer but he says the move depends on the Argentian forward. While at Barca, Messi scored 672 goals in 778 appearances between 2003 and 2021 before the team let him go for free due to being unable to renew his contract.
