Ykee Benda has taken a bold step with his two-year-old record label, Mpaka Records as reports come in state that he recently signed a new artist, Dre Cali making it his first-ever addition.
The new artist in question joining Mpaka Records is known as Dre Cali real name Katende Andrew. According to Big Eye, Ykee has been mentoring him for the last seven months preparing him for the music industry.
According to Ykee, “We have been scouting for new musicians, and while there are lots of talented singers, most did not meet our standards, especially on discipline. We have been grooming and polishing up Dre Cali for seven months now,”.
“He has a unique voice, that is one of his most attractive features and is also very versatile.”, he added.
Who is Dre Cali?
Dre Cali is a UCU graduate with a Bachelors degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering who has opted not for a career in his field of study but rather to follow his passion.
The young and talented graduate has been signed under Mpaka Records on a 3-year record deal with a new single titled, ‘Zigi Zaga’ already in the works. He is a contemporary artist who is capable of singing all kinds of genres but is more inclined towards reggae-dancehall music.
“Mpaka Record reached out to me, and I am glad they did because all my life I have always wanted to be a musician,” Dre Cali revealed.
