Ugandan rapper Ernest Nsimbi also known by his popular stage name GNL Zamba has made a statement claiming he is going to use his new album titled ‘Spear’ to take the whole world back to their African origin.
GNL Zamba has recently risen to the scene to claim his spot as one of the best rappers in UG, releasing tracks like ‘Dear Hip Hop’ which was sort of a war cry to mark his return to the hip hop scene.
The Spear album was released on Wednesday 11 November 2020. The 11 track album has songs like Africa, Black Ceaser, Black Red Yellow Blue, No Borders, Energy, Sweet Uganda (Star Taffa), The Spear, Wake The F**k Up, Who Got the Power, Zamba The Great and Zim Zim Bombo.
According to GNL, the album has taken him three years to produce and says it’s a showcase of his hard work that has been like a spiritual and personal journey of growth for him as he has put a lot of energy into the project.
“The Spear ties Uganda’s past together with present life in America, introducing an inspirational, creative vision of a future,” GNL says. He adds that most of the answers to many questions will be found in the album which will bring Africans together as a tribe in the spirit of togetherness.

The Spear album was written by GNL Zamba but it also features vocals by Black Shakespeare and Cassandra, it was mixed and engineered by Fly Tucker & Tony Austin.
The Spear album was produced by L’Atelier Studios in Los Angeles and was mastered by Dave Cooley at Elysian Mastering 2. The Bass was by Dante Pascuzzo at Digital T and the drums by Tony Austin with Pete Korpela on the percussion.
GNL Zamba is a popular and influential hip-hop artist in Uganda, credited with bringing rap and Lugaflow style of music to mainstream radio and other media in Uganda. His stage name, GNL, is short for “Greatness No Limits”.
