Hellen Lukoma surprised the masses when she won an award for best actress at the BEFFTA awards ceremony.
The Ugandan singer and fashion designer was filled with joy and made her stance clear that her talent in acting isn’t just for show and now she is winning awards overseas.
Lukoma’s love and devotion for acting was first noticed when she played the character of Patra in The Hostel series that used to air back then NTV.
Hellen was able to grab Best African actress at the BEFFTA Awards after winning the hearts of the people at an online poll in which she emerged victorious against tough competition from the likes of Wema Sepetu (Tanzania), We Rachel Opia (Nigeria), Joselyn Dumas (Ghana), and Eniola Badmus (Nigeria).
The BEFFTA awards were founded by Pauline Long with an aim to recognize and reward outstanding African actors and actresses from black and ethnic communities globally in entertainment, film, fashion, television and arts.
