“Thank you for all the years of nurturing,” said Vinka as she signed the contract yesterday in a video press release revealed by her management.
Having started out as an artist manager for Irene Ntale years back, Vinka has transformed into something totally different – becoming a Ugandan music icon that is known for her various hits like Thank God, Chips Na Ketchup, Love Doctor, Over Dose and Maliaka to mention but a few.
When she started off her music career, Vinka never looked back despite the negative press and social media bubble that surrounded her at the time, she kept her head high and continued to break barriers leading to her big signing opportunity with Sony Music.
Swangz Avenue extends Vinka contract
Vinka has been managed by Swangz since 2016 and in 2018 she signed a long-term recording deal with Sony. The new contract with her management label isn’t clear and we don’t know how long it will be.
However, it is no surprise that the news comes after Swangz Avenue renewed its contract with Winnie Nwagi last year putting to rest the rumours that the label would often cut ties with its older artists. The label is currently managing four female recording talents, which include Winnie Nwagi, Vinka, Azawi and the new signee Zafaran.
A huge congratulations to her as she continues to impact the music industry with her brave and unique style of doing things.
