Cristiano Ronaldo is making a sensational return to Manchester United after nearly 12 years away from the club when he decided to move to Real Madrid in 2009. The fans are filled with joy as they get to see their beloved star return to the fold.

Manchester United announced the news of the star’s return on Friday, in a €15 million (UGX 62,517,939,510) deal with a potential further €8m in add-ons, according to ESPN sources.

According to reports, the 36-year-old will make his debut return to Old Trafford 12 years after leaving the club to join Real Madrid and will sign a two-year contract.

United posted a collage of Ronaldo from his previous playing days at the club on Twitter along with the words: “Welcome home, @Cristiano.”

A statement from United read, “Manchester United is delighted to confirm that the club has reached an agreement with Juventus for the transfer of Cristiano Ronaldo, subject to agreement of personal terms, visa and medical.

“Cristiano, a five-time Ballon d’Or winner, has so far won over 30 major trophies during his career, including five Champions League titles, four FIFA Club World Cup, seven league titles in England, Spain and Italy, and the European Championship for his native Portugal.

“In his first spell for Manchester United, he scored 118 goals in 292 games. Everyone at the club looks forward to welcoming Cristiano back to Manchester.”

Cristiano Ronaldo agrees to return to Manchester United

The Portugal international left for Real Madrid in 2009 for a then-world-record fee of £80 million but will now make an emotional return to Old Trafford.

Reports also suggest that Manchester City were among the clubs that were interested in Cristiano but later pulled out of the race leaving United to pursue the offer further. It is also been confirmed by Rio Ferdinand who says he spoke to the former United teammate asking him not to move to the Etihad Stadium.

It is said that the talks between the two clubs began Thursday night and now, Ronaldo is getting ready to head back to United. Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri later confirmed that the Portuguese player had asked to leave the club before the transfer deadline on Aug. 31.

Man U’s current boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will rightly celebrate Ronaldo’s landmark return and will see this as an opportunity to fight even harder for the English Premier League trophy since he has been struggling to win his first trophy at the club.
