Manchester City Want to Bring Lionel Messi to England

Manchester City management and owners are targeting Barcelona’s Argentine star, Lionel Messi and feel they have the guts to convince the decorated player to join their side in England.

There have been reports circulating around that Lionel Messi wants to quit Barcelona in the summer after their team was eliminated from the Champions League, and also citing concerns of battles ongoing within the club’s ranks.

Man City sees this as a chance to win over the star’s heart to their side given the opportunity arises in the near future, and also it would be a great chance to reunite him with his previous manager, Pep Guardiola and according to The Mirror.

With several Premier League teams gearing up for the next season, which could be a competitive one, the Blues are willing to do whatever it takes to win the 32-year-old Barcelona captain to their side.

Known to be one of the most talented football players in history, if Messi joins Man City, it will bolster its already-fit squad making it the top threat in the next English Premier League season.

Manchester City must be ready to spend a lot of money if they truly want Lionel Messi on their team

Manchester City must have been saving some cash aside for this moment, as it seems their interest in Messi could be a sign that they’re ready to spend as much as they can on the Argentine if the deal is viable.

It also shows that Pep’s side must be aware that no other team may be able to match their offer if the transfer window opens up given the fact that the clause in Mess’s contract, which allows him to leave for free at the end of every season expired at the end of May.

Barcelona hasn’t had a great season this year as they lost the La Liga title to Real Madrid and were later humiliated by Bayern Munich in the quarterfinal stage of the Champions League killing their hopes for a UEFA trophy this year.

Messi has been at Barcelona for over 16 years now and its time he thought about venturing into other leagues to expand his portfolio as an experienced player.

However, Barcelona insisted they had not heard from Messi about his desire to leave the club, which caused them to have an emergency board meeting at Camp Nou on Monday to discuss the matter in detail, including under-fire president Josep Maria Bartomeu following the team’s humiliating 8-2 Champions League quarter-final defeat by Bayern Munich on Friday.
