“Confirmed. The FIFA Council has announced that Morocco will host the 2022 #ClubWC!” FIFA wrote on Twitter. The news comes amid celebrations and growing recognition of Morocco’s passion for football proven by the country’s national team’s participation in the 2022 World Cup.
The Moroccan national team made uplifting performances during the 2022 World Cup and has made history as the first African and Arab country to qualify for the semi-finals in the tournament’s history.

Wydad AC will participate as the CAF Champions League winner and the host country’s league champion. Al Ahly SC from Egypt will participate as CAF Champions league runners-up. FIFA President Gianni Infantino also announced that the FIFA Club World Cup will comprise 32 teams starting in 2025.
