Aubameyang May Head to Newcastle If Arsenal Accepts Loan Deal with Option to buy for £20M

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang may find himself heading to Newcastle United after falling out of favour with Arsenal due to his latest ‘disciplinary’ breach which led him to lose the captaincy.

Reports indicate that Newcastle United have made advances towards Arsenal about taking their star striker Aubameyang to the North East in January during the summer.

Aubameyang hasn’t had a great time at Arsenal this past month after the Gunners manager Mikel Arteta stripped him of his captaincy after a disciplinary breach last month and has not featured since.

According to Arteta, the reasons behind the disciplinary actions taken against Aubameyang are “unfortunately due to a disciplinary breach”, he stated during last years Premier League clash against Southampton at the Emirates on Saturday afternoon.

“I think we have been very consistent that we have certain non-negotiables in the team that we have set ourselves as a club, and he’s not involved today.”

This is not the first time the Gabon player has been dropped by Arteta for off-field issues. On the day of the North London derby, last season Arteta axed the captain from the team after he arrived late for the game.

Some of the fans have come out to support the decision while others have had mixed reactions over the disciplinary breach which has cost the star player matches at the club.

The reports of Newcastle taking interest in the Gabon player have led to speculations that the 32-year-old days at the London club may be numbered and could find himself out of the team soon.

According to reports, there is a possibility for a permanent transfer at the end of the season valued at £20million which could probably happen.

It is also reported that Newcastle is willing to take the 32-year-old on loan for the remainder of the season, and would like to have a £20m option to buy. However, if the deal goes through successfully, Newcastle will have to do without Aubameyang for the first month of the New Year as he is away at the Africa Cup of Nations with Gabon.

The star player is currently away on international duty with Gabon as he prepares for the Africa Cup of Nations so would likely not be available until February depending on how they progress.
