Nickelodeon, an American kid’s network nominated Eddy Kenzo for the Favourite African Star category at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards.
The awards which are slated to take place at The Forum in Inglewood, California, on 24 March saw over five African musicians being nominated for the 31st edition of the Kids’ Choice Awards.
Eddy Kenzo among other artists like South African rapper Cassper Nyovest were also some of the African artists nominated for the awards.
“The Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards offer a platform for African stars to be recognised for their excellence in their various talents including, music, sport and TV by kids all over the globe,” Viacom International Media Networks Africa executive vice-president and managing director Alex Okosi said.
“We are delighted to feature the continent’s highly talented nominees in the Favourite African Star category. Additionally, Black Coffee is nominated in the Favourite Global Music Star category alongside international counterparts.”

South African comedian and Daily Show host Trevor Noah won the Favourite African Star Award last year and this time around we hope Eddy Kenzo scoops the award for Uganda as he has been a beacon for the banana republic on several occasions like the BET Awards and many others.
The Kids’ Choice Awards will be announcing new categories in the four weeks leading up to the show, starting this week. The voting process will be open to young viewers who will select their favourite stars on the Nickelodeon website.
