Joker Becomes Highest Grossing Rated-R Movie

Joker just beat all the negative vibe that it had received from some critics to be ranked as one of the biggest and highest-grossing rated R-movies of all time.

Warner Brothers and Director Todd Phillips are super excited and impressed by the performance of the movie since its launch this year having a worldwide gross of over $788.3 million with it beating Deadpool ($782.6 million) and Deadpool 2 ($785 million) in this weeks gross earnings giving it the the No. 1 spot.

Joker is expected to pass the $800 million mark by this weekend and if it does, it will become the 86th highest-grossing film of all time with it currently standing at 93th position which it could break any time to reach the 70’s or probably the 60’s in the next few weeks.

Projections for the Joker film have been set to $900 million but there is a high possibility it could hit $1 billion which will give a huge profit margin for Warner Brothers which isn’t a surprise since its been a talk of the town for movie fans and critics a like.

For the superhero movie fan base, the Joker is just another cult film waiting to happen and could be a threat to the other popular DC and Marvel titles. If it passes $900 million as expected, the film will topple Venom, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Spider-Man: Homecoming, and Spider-Man 3, but fall just behind The Dark Knight.

Joker is a 2019 American psychological thriller film directed by Todd Phillips, who co-wrote the screenplay with Scott Silver based on an origin story set in 1981 about Arthur Fleck a failed stand-up comedian who turns to a life of crime and chaos in Gotham City.

The film is based on DC Comics characters and stars Joaquin Phoenix as the Joker with Robert De Niro, Zazie Beetz, Frances Conroy, Brett Cullen, Glenn Fleshler, Bill Camp, Shea Whigham, and Marc Maron appearing in supporting roles.
