Bobi Wine is not planning on staying in the MP business forever as he has made it clear that he would like to contest for Uganda’s presidency when the opportunity arises.
The ghetto president was sworn in as the Kyadondo East Member of Parliament on Tuesday after a successful campaign that landed him a huge following.
While addressing his supporters at Kasangati Saza Grounds during the swearing-in celebrations, he revealed that he wants his wife to one day become Uganda’s First Lady.
He made the remarks while extending gratitude to his wife Barbie Kyagulanyi for standing by his side as he canvassed Kyadondo East constituency for votes.
“Thanks for believing in me,” he said. “Before I die, I promise to make you Uganda’s First Lady.”
During the campaigns, Bobi Wine was able to gather over 25,000 votes which gave him a landslide victory in the Kyadondo East by-election. He went against tough competition from the likes of NRM’s Sitenda Ssebalu William who came second with 4, 566 votes and FDC’s Apollo Katinti in third place with 1, 832 votes.
