New reports have come to light pointing fingers towards P Diddy threatening to harm J Cole because of another rapper in a recent podcast. TDE Punch shared the allegations during a recently aired episode of the R&B Money podcast.
During the podcast, TDE Punch revealed some juicy info on P Diddy’s beef with J Cole and how the entertainment mogul threatened to, “slit open” J Cole’s throat over Kendrick Lamar during the R&B Money podcast.
TDE Punch was asked to share one of his wild stories without naming any specific people involved, but he instead decided to reflect on an incident which turns out to have involved both Diddy and J Cole at the VMAs in 2013 – with both reported to have exchanged blows during the awards ceremony.
According to Punch, P Diddy was unhappy with Kendrick Lamar’s “Control” verse, and J Cole was defending him leading to a fight. In the track, the Los Angeles rapper calls himself the King of New York, which did not sit well with a few elites. The track went on to become a global hit and is still causing tensions to date.
In a clip from the podcast, Punch recalls hitting a club in New York City when two people began to argue over a big song. These men are speculated to be J Cole and Diddy. According to him, the VIP section they were in was like “the front row of the Grammys,” meaning plenty of high-profile people around.
The argument got heated when one of them said they’d cut the other’s throat with a bottle if they were to disrespect them again. The one who was threatened threw a punch, resulting in a “huge scuffle.” It’s rumoured that Diddy was the one to make the bottle threat, whereas Cole threw the punch.

Punch further added that the fight got intense when another person who was friends to one of the big shot celebrities that were witnessing the fight got involved and started beating up J Cole. It’s rumoured that the suspect was Jay-Z’s close friend, Emory Jones who later realized that he was beating up J Cole and immediately felt guilty.
It’s said that Jones did not have his glasses at the time and went full attack mode J Cole without realising it at first. However, it is exactly confirmed that the fight Punch was talking about during the podcast was the one between P Diddy and Cole. “The ratio from celebrity to regular person was like 70/30 maybe.
