US singer Chris Brown could go to jail for not having a permit to own his pet capuchin monkey according to reports by California’s wildlife department.
California’s wildlife department seized the monkey from Chris Brown’s Los Angeles home after he posted an Instagram video of his three-year-old daughter playing with it.
The Instagram video of the pet monkey named Fiji drew a lot of attention from his followers who were concerned about it being a danger to his daughter and family.

The raid on Brown’s home was carried out while he was away after a search warrant was issued on the 2 January. His employees handed the animal over and he has since agreed to cooperate, according to the department’s Captain Patrick Foy.
He may now face a misdemeanor charge, which carries a potential six-month prison sentence. He previously served time in jail after flouting the terms of a probation order placed on him following a fight in Washington in October 2013.
