The king herself, Cindy Sanyu is said to be making plans and wishes to take a break from the music scene and industry after reports from various media sites started to circulate.
According to Howwe, Cindy Sanyu may take a break from music due to the possibility of her being pregnant and getting ready for motherhood. The pregnancy rumours are not yet confirmed but it’s suspected it’s the reason for her decision.
However, the reports were confirmed live on TV, when Cindy herself said it is true that she wants to take a break. According to the broadcast, “It’s not a rumour. It is happening. I will be taking time off for family and relaxation as I prepare,” she said.
Given the fact the dancehall queen has made some recent changes to her life, it’s no surprise that she is taking this opportunity to focus on other things. Her recent engagement to Prynxe Joel Atiku is among the contributing factors to this sudden twist.
It is also reported that Cindy and Joel are expecting a child soon and preparing for parenthood ahead of time which is why they are making changes to their routine and career programs respectively.
Cindy Sanyu taking a break from music
For a long time, Sanyu has denied all the pregnancy rumours. But this time around that could be quite hard to hide. Also, those within the entertainment industry try their level best to keep their personal lives private and away from the limelight of the gossip scene which is no surprise most of them prefer to say anything.
The concerning question is whether this move will affect any of her future engagements such as concerts and other projects. We are yet to receive formal communication from her label about this matter but nothing has popped up yet.
This year alone, the self-styled “King Herself” has been able to release over four songs in a span of 6 months. Some of the tracks include Nkwata with Gael Will, Push Back (Peter Miles, Dj Rocky and Ketchup), Bidagala (Gravity Omutujju), and her recent Pull Up On Mi Bumpa dancehall song.
Sanyu was one of the original members of Blu*3 which also consisted of Lilian Mbabazi and Jackie Chandiru. She has performed with P-Square, Wahu, Beenie Man, Ne-Yo, Tiwa savage, Bobi Wine, Shaggy, Chameleon, Bebe Cool, Davido, Mr. G and Radio & Weasel.
We are happy for Cindy and wish her the best as she prepares herself for motherhood. Taking a break is a good thing and allows one to focus more on their personal wellbeing and family. She is already blessed with an 11-year-old girl she had with ex-lover Mario Brunetti.
