250 Teachers Starving for 6 Months, No Salaries

Reports from the newly created Rubanda district show that more than 200 primary school teachers have not received salaries for the last six months.

According to Daily Monitor, the reason for the salary disappearance was due to creation of the new district, Rubanda which was part of Kabale District.

The names of the 250 teacher’s were deleted from the payroll list during the district creation according to the chairman of Uganda National Teacher’s Union Rubanda District Branch, Mr Anthony Musasizi.

Our dear teachers of Rubanda district are facing starvation and are in need of their salaries but according to Mr Musasizi, on November 15, he petitioned the district chief administrative officer demanding an explanation over the matter.

Prayers go out to those teachers affected by this and we hope the respective concerned parties deal with the problem immediately.
