Man U: Jose Mourinho Dumps Key Players

Jose Mourinho has benched the likes of Michael Carrick, Antonio Valencia and Matteo Darmian out of Man U’s Europa League tie at Zorya Luhansk.

Jose claims he did this to protect the players ahead of the Tottenham match that is scheduled  for Sunday at Old Trafford. Man U is hoping to extend their Europa League campaign with a win if they draw at their final Group A in Odessa on Thursday.

If Feyenoord fails to win against Fenerbahce, Manchester United will progress smoothly to the league.

“The players I had to leave out to protect,” Mourinho said. “I left them in Manchester. The ones I brought, I brought them to play and not to protect.”

Memphis Depay and Morgan Schneiderlin have also been overlooked as the two have barely featured since the Portuguese’s arrival and have been strongly linked with an exit next month.

Mourinho’s reign at Man U hasn’t been a smooth sail so far and we expect more drama to surface.
