The 2020 Zzina Awards Postponed to Later Date In June

The 7th edition of Zzina Awards 2020 that was scheduled for March 27 this year has been pushed to a later date with the event expected to be a virtual one this time around.

The Zzina Awards were to be held at the MTN Warehouse in March but later faced a few hiccups due to the global coronavirus pandemic forcing the organisers to make changes to the event down the road.

The new date has been confirmed as 16 June 2020 and the event will run live on the both Galaxy Fm 1002 and MTN Uganda’s Facebook page at 7 p.m. according to reports by Big Eye. The event’s theme is, “For the Love of Ugandan Music”.

Winners will be revealed via online with 20 award categories listed as voted by fans across the country. All you have to do is sit back at home and enjoy the awards event online.

Voting began back in February, with the full list of contenders revealed on Galaxy FM’s website where all the voting took place. The awards are sponsored by MTN Uganda, Movit, Galaxy FM and betting company Kagwirawo.

A full list of nominees confined within 20 categorises was revealed recently with 2 of the 18 categories to be determined by a selected committee but will not undergo the voting process. The categories in question include Sports personality of the year Award and the Legend Award.
