Jim Ryan, CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment, said: “We’ve shared technical specifications and shown you the new DualSense wireless controller. But what is a launch without games?”
“That’s why I’m excited to share that we will soon give you a first look at the games you’ll be playing after PlayStation 5 launches this holiday. The games coming to PS5 represent the best in the industry from innovative studios that span the globe. Studios, both larger and smaller, those newer and those more established, all have been hard at work developing games that will showcase the potential of the hardware.” Jim added.
A while back, the Japanese company revealed a lot of information about is revolutionary PS5 controller giving more details on what is expected from it and what new technology it brings for players.
Last week, PlayStation was to launch the new console but because of the widespread protests that were as a result of the killing of George Floyd in the US, Sony decided to hold back on the event in respect of the protests.
Sony will be revealing its new PlayStation 5 at the launch set to happen on the 11 June
In a statement by Sid Shuman Senior Director, SIE Content Communications “Hi all – thanks for being patient and understanding while we rescheduled this PS5 event for Thursday, June 11 at 1 pm Pacific Time / 9 pm BST. We needed to step aside so key voices could be heard during this historic and important time. ”
“Now that the event is confirmed for June 11, I wanted to add that this pre-taped program will be broadcast at 1080p and 30 frames per second. This eased the show’s production process during a time when many of our team and developers are working from home. The games you’ll see on Thursday will look even better when you play them on PS5 with a 4K TV, as you’d expect.” He added
The Communications head also noted the importance for one to listen to the show using headphones to have an amazing experience. “It’s also best if you watch while wearing headphones if you can — there’s some cool audio work in the show, and it might be harder to appreciate if it’s pumped through your phone or laptop speakers.”
So, are you ready to see what the next generation of console gaming is all about? We are totally excited too. Don’t miss out on the PlayStation 5 launch event that will begin at 21:00 BST/11 pm East African time tomorrow.
