Sony Unveils More Info About Its Revolutionary PS5 Controller

As the console wars continue to rage on, Sony is promising its players a better and much more refined PS5 controller for the upcoming next-generation console set to launch later this year.

Sony revealed more information about its latest gaming controller, which seems kinda nice and a better improvement from its predecessors.

In a new blog post this week, Sony introduced the PlayStation 5 DualSense controller as an evolutionary upgrade from the traditional DualShock showcasing its new features.

The DualSense controller also comes in a more refined design and is believed to be more comfy and packed with new features. In addition to its new black and white color scheme, its biggest upgrade is its use of a technology called Tempest 3D AudioTech.

The Tempest 3D AudioTech is said to be an enhanced force feedback system that gives the controller precise haptic feedback.

Based on hands-on reports by Peter Rubin of Wired, the controller has an enhanced haptic feedback system that offers granular vibrations for all types of in-game interactions, creating a more active feeling of touch.

The triggers, L2 and R2, now also have “adaptive triggers” which apparently let individual games incorporate different amounts of tension into those button pulls.

The controller is also said to have a more comfortable grip and better battery life, which is awesome news since the previous controllers for PS4 didn’t do well with battery life. Also, the Share button, which used to be the Options button way back in the day, is now called the “Create” button.
