Chris Noth Has Been Booted Out Of ‘The Equalizer’ TV Series And Here’s Why

CBS drama, “The Equalizer” has decided to drop one of their top actors, Chris Noth, from the TV series after a series of allegations against him surfaced forcing the team to take action.

According to CNN, Chris Noth will no longer be part of the “The Equalizer,” following allegations of sexual assault made against the star by two women.

CBS and Universal Television released a brief statement on Monday about the matter that read: “Chris Noth will no longer film additional episodes of The Equalizer, effective immediately.”

According to reports that surfaced last week from The Hollywood Reporter, two women accused Noth of sexual assault but the star has denied the allegations.

“The accusations against me made by individuals I met years, even decades, ago are categorically false. These stories could’ve been from 30 years ago or 30 days ago — no always means no — that is a line I did not cross. The encounters were consensual. It’s difficult not to question the timing of these stories coming out. I don’t know for certain why they are surfacing now, but I do know this: I did not assault these women,” Noth said in a statement last week.

In “The Equalizer,” which stars Queen Latifah, Noth, 67, portrays former CIA director William Bishop. He will be seen in one upcoming episode of the series that has already been filmed, as well as future repeats of episodes that have already aired.

Noth is popularly known for his television roles as NYPD Detective Mike Logan on Law & Order (1990–95), Big on Sex and the City (1998–2004), and Peter Florrick on The Good Wife (2009–16). He reprised his role of Mike Logan on Law & Order: Criminal Intent (2005–08) and reprised his role of Big in the films Sex and the City (2008) and Sex and the City 2 (2010)

Chris Noth dropped from The Equalizer CBS drama over sexual assault allegations

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the two women, Zoe, now 40, and Lily, now 31, both allege they were sexually assaulted by actor Chris Noth. They also stated that the reason why they came out is because of the promotions and press reports of HBO Max’s Sex and the City sequel series And Just Like That, in which Noth reprises his role as Mr Big, ‘stirred painful memories’ of incidents they say occurred in Los Angeles in 2004 and in New York in 2015, respectively.

Late last week, Noth was dropped by his talent agency, A3 Artists Agency, a spokesperson for the agency told CNN on Saturday. Peloton, which had just released a viral commercial featuring the actor, also stopped airing the ad.

On Monday night, “And Just Like That” stars and executive producers Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis released a statement via social media addressing the allegations for the first time.

“We are deeply saddened to hear the allegations against Chris Noth. We support the women who have come forward and shared their painful experiences. We know it must be a very difficult thing to do and we commend them for it.”
