Alicia Keys Praises Diamond Platnumz for His Unique Style

Grammy award-winning singer Alicia Keys recently praised Tanzanian star, Diamond Platnumz for his role on her self-titled ‘Alicia’ album including the collaboration they did together.

Alicia and Platnumz both worked together on a song titled, ‘Wasted Energy’ which the Tanzanian star features as part of her recently released album. While doing a recap of the album, Keys hailed Diamond for introducing a unique style to the project. She said it is a clear definition of the music world colliding to come up with a masterpiece.

“I also love that Diamond Platnumz was part of this, an amazing Tanzanian artiste, who happens to come in and bless this track with his unique style. I love how the worlds collide here. This is like world music collision at its finest,” Alicia said.

Diamond Platnumz later returned the favour by heading to social media to thank Alicia Keys for letting him be part of the wonderful project. His post read:

“It’s a privilege and honour to be featured in this iconic album of the Queen….Thank you @aliciakeys and my brother @therealswizzz for believing in me,”.

Platnumz made history by becoming the first African musician to feature on Alicia Keys’ albums, putting him on the map as a worthy collabo contender, which could only drive his career further.

However, when the song came out, fans were quick to throw backlash at Alicia claiming that she and the team had featured Diamond for only a few seconds. The confusion was later cleared up when the American singer’s husband offered more truth to the story.

While doing a recap of the album, Alicia Keys hailed Diamond for introducing a unique style to the project.

Alicia’s husband Swizz Beatz, who is an American record producer asked Diamond to tell his fans the truth that it was his own decision to feature in the project for a few seconds.

“My Brother 4 life. Please let your fans know you did as you pleased on the rec and this is just part 1,” Swizz wrote on Instagram. In another post, the producer commented that they have another project together. “Let’s do the long version Asap.”

Diamond added, “This means a lot to me, Queen. Working with you was a dream come true. And I can’t wait for the world to hear what we still have in store.”

The response from Swizz Beatz confirms that Platnumz isn’t done yet, and still has more to do with them when it comes to music. We hope we get to see more projects from both artists soon as this could be the chance for the Tanzanian to export his music even further beyond Africa.
