Halle Berry Injured On Movie Set

Filming for Halle Berry’s upcoming mixed martial arts (MMA) thriller Bruised has been halted while the star recovers from an injury.

Production on the flick was slated to take place on Monday, but the shoot had to be rescheduled due to the 53-year-old actress’ injury.

While executive producer Brian Pitt didn’t reveal the specific nature of the star’s ailment, he made it clear that it was “nothing serious”.

“Halle got slightly injured in the fight,” Pitt told NJ Advance Media. “She’s tired. She needed a break.”

Filming had been scheduled to take place at Mack’s Elite Heat Boxing Gym in Newark, New Jersey, with a sign on the gym reading, “Gym closed till 12/2/19. Do not enter!”

According to Pitt, filming is due to resume on Friday, as he explained: “Occasionally what’s going to happen is an actor might get a little injured, and we might adjust scheduling around them a little bit.

“We are in the process of just moving things around for actor availability,” he added, confessing injuries in a film about MMA are always a possibility.

In the film, the Monster’s Ball actress stars as Jackie, or “Justice” – a mixed martial arts fighter who has to work her way back from ruin and reunite with her six-year-old son Manny.

Kevin D. Benton and Melanie Waldman also star in the film, in which Berry also makes her directorial debut.
