Donald Trump Blames Antifa and Media for Wide Spread Riots In US

American President Donald Trump, seems to be on some good weed as he recently blamed the widespread protests affecting major cities on radical-left anarchists like Antifa while adding that the media is also responsible.

As the cities of Minneapolis and Minnesota continue to be engulfed in widespread riots and protests including acts of violence in some areas as a result of George Floyd’s death, President Trump has taken a different direction and has blamed the entire mess on radical-left anarchists, including the media.

According to Trump, the media “is doing everything within their power to foment hatred and anarchy.” He also tweeted about the far-right group, Antifa referring to it as a terrorist organization which poses a threat to America’s national security.

On Sunday, Trump tweeted and said the U.S. “will be designating ANTIFA as a Terrorist Organization.”

The president further stated that the far-left group Antifa — short for “anti-fascists” — have led clashes with police and looting in cities across the U.S. since the killing of George Floyd in police custody in Minneapolis.

It is still unclear whether the reports are true, with the Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, informing the press that he’d heard unconfirmed reports that white supremacists were coming from elsewhere to stoke the violence.

Trump’s administration blames far-left extremists groups like Antifa for the George Floyd protests

The protests and riots spreading across dozens of cities in the U.S. have been as a result of a series of racist incidents and deaths involving black people, including that of Floyd’s on Monday.

The reports that state that white supremacists groups like Antifa are behind the current violent acts displayed by the George Floyd protestors is still sketchy and are yet to be confirmed.

After Trump’s tweet about the far-right group, the Attorney General William Barr said in a statement that “federal law enforcement actions will be directed at apprehending and charging the violent radical agitators who have hijacked peaceful protest.”

Barr added: “The violence instigated and carried out by Antifa and other similar groups in connection with the rioting is domestic terrorism and will be treated accordingly.”

Derek Chauvin, now a former Minneapolis police officer, was seen on video kneeling on Floyd’s neck while holding him in custody as Floyd pleaded that he couldn’t breathe. Chauvin has been charged with third-degree murder and manslaughter. Three other officers present at the scene have been fired but not arrested or charged.

As the death toll resulting from the coronavirus pandemic continues to grow, with estimated deaths in 100,000 and millions of people unable to work. The ongoing riots only to continue to paint a grim picture on the current state of the United States worsening the already ongoing crisis in the country.
