One of Uganda’s leading record labels Swangz Avenue together with House of Djs have announced a special COVID-19 concert called, “UGANDA, Strong & United” which is meant to take place in May.
The concert is meant to boost unity and solidarity and spread a message of hope to all Ugandans during the lockdown, which has not only affected businesses but everything in general.
The COVID-19 concert is expected to draw in several talented artists from the arts industry and also give credit to all the healthcare workers, and teams that have been involved directly in the fight against the Coronavirus.
“In these extremely challenging times, we would like to share our heartfelt support and solidarity with all Ugandans with a reminder of how resilient we are as a Nation. This is tough but will definitely pass and we should together start plotting recovery and living post COVID-19. We are strong United.” — Benon Mugumbya, Director Swangz Avenue.
The Covid-19 concert is expected to be streamed online
Since events and any other public gatherings have been put on hold due to fear of spreading the virus, the “Uganda Strong & United” concert will be streamed online on various platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube. The event will be broadcast on Sunday, May 3rd, from 12 pm to 7 pm.
Of course, don’t expect any ticket sales or VIP passes in case you are already wondering about how much it will cost. All you need to do is buy a data bundle and have a good Internet connection to stream the concert in the comfort of your home.
