A young growing non-profit organization started by a group of talented youngsters makes waves in Kampala as they launch their first fund-raising event #UnseenMeExhibition set to happen this Saturday, 4th February.
Streetlights Uganda will organise the free event and will start at 5 pm at the Under Ground-Contemporary Art Space, Nakumatt Oasis Mall Basement. Further opening dates will be Sunday 05th and Monday 06th from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm.
What is the exhibition about?
The “Unseen Me” is an exhibition themed on bridging the gap between society and the vulnerable kids on the streets. The exhibition greatly focuses on creating awareness about the abilities of street children as well as reminding families and society of the impact they have on the lives and characters of their children.
The event will have activities like poetry, contemporary dance, fashion showcase, live painting, video screening, and beatboxing among others. Kei Hashimoto, a curator at the Under Ground Contemporary Art Space, will curate it.

Streetlights Uganda is a registered local non-profit organization that was formed in 2014 by four former art students at Makerere University with a vision “To see a world free of street children as well as bridging the unemployment gap.”
