Pesapal: Use Mobile Money Online in Uganda

There are still very few Ugandans who have taken in the online world and are even more shy about shopping online despite the advent of several sites like OLX and Jumia but Pesapal might change that.

Pesapal is a Kenyan financial company that developed an app/website technology that allows users and businesses to use their mobile money accounts such as MTN Mobile Money or Airtel Money to pay for goods and services online.

For instance you can use Pesapal on Vodafone Uganda’s online portal to top up for internet bundles when they deplete. You start a transaction with Pesapal then complete it online by inserting the transaction ID you get.

You can also load more money to the online Pesapal account using Mobile Money and use it like you would with Paypal, Ezee Money, credit cards like Visa, Mastercard on several services.

Pesapal is in several countries now so far it is officially in Kenya, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Rwanda, Malawi and Tanzania. It expanded to now include more places to shop, buying airtime, paying school fees, buying tickets and paying utility bills.
