Reasons Why Bad Black Is Studying At Victoria University

Bad Black caused a ruckus online when unconfirmed reports surfaced about how she had become the ambassador for Victoria University, with many seeing the move as an embarrassment to the institution and others threatening to boycott the university.

Famously known by her alias, Masolo Queen, Bad Black was quick to announce that she had been selected as the brand ambassador for Victoria University, which caused a storm online.

According to reports by Big Eye, the vice-chancellor of Victoria University, Dr Lawrence Muganga said that Bad Black is pursuing Digital Marketing and English lessons at the institution and she is not a brand ambassador.

The vice-chancellor further added that the university is helping the Ugandan celeb to realise her dream of becoming a digital marketer and English guru since it is publically known that celebrity doesn’t do well when it comes to expressing herself in the luzungu language.

“Ms Shanitah has a goal of becoming a fluent English speaker and Digital marketing guru and that’s how Victoria University comes to help her, the courses she is to take are to improve and make her a better person in the English language and Digital marketing,” Dr Lawrence Muganga said.

However, what caused a lot of issues for the university was when Bad Black announced on her social media platforms that she had been selected as the university’s ambassador. Her post read: “I can’t explain but coming live to address n English as I am the official brand ambassador of Victoria university, I am so happy for my children getting a bursary for international schools,”.

She further stated, “Yes small books Vs big books, how come your big books didn’t land you on such a gig from today.”

Despite the backlash, the vice-chancellor instead saw this as an opportunity in disguise that has only made it easy to promote the university which according to him, the celebrity did well on their behalf.

“Without much effort, Bad Black has just finished her task of promoting Victoria University. She has passed the test with flying colours. Give me the name of someone else who would have done this, and given the University this talk ability in terms of real numbers on day one. Just 1,” he said.

He added, “You can go anywhere you want, give all sorts of reasons why you think that you are better than her, list the good things you do that she does not, or the bad things she does you don’t, one fact remains: none of is righteous before God. That is the end of the story Amen.”

Victoria University has come out and denied appointing Black saying that she is only their student.

“Ms Shanitah Namuyimbwa came to Victori University with an overwhelming desire to better herself and become a decent member of the community and a role model to her children.

“I would also like to make this clear to you and all with emphasis. Victoria University is only here to help Ms Shanitah Namuyimbwa to improve herself to become a better and productive human being through pursuing impactful English language and digital marketing short courses offered by Victoria University. Victoria University has not paid any money to Ms Shanitah Namuyimbwa.

“It’s also important to note that all Victoria University students and the alumni are our ambassadors therefore since Ms Shanitah Namuyimbwa is our student, she automatically becomes a Victoria University ambassador,” The university statement stated.
