As Americans across the United States join forces to take part in the George Floyd protests, celebrities are joining in the action too but some have faced it rough as they have found themselves butting heads with the police.
Hundreds of thousands of demonstrators took to the streets and joined hands together to seek justice against police brutality with more joining later on after George Floyd lost his on May 25 at the hands of a white Minneapolis police officer.
Celebrities have also taken part in the protests with some heading to social media to voice their concerns such as Jay Z, who recently blew the whistle about his call with Tim Walz concerning what actions could have been taken against the officers responsible for Floyd’s death. While others join the protestors on the ground.
Celebrities like Halsey, Ariana Grande, Emily Ratajkowski, and more have stood strong with others in the streets during the demonstrations across cities like Santa Monica, California, where police teargassed and fired rubber bullets at peaceful protestors.
Riverdale star Cole Sprouse was among those unlucky celebrities that found himself arrested by police while taking part in a protest in Santa Monica on June 1 but was later released.

The 27-year-old didn’t give up after the arrest and encouraged his fans by letting them know what’s really important about the protests. He informed his fans about why it’s important to support the Black Lives Matter movement and continue to fight for justice against police brutality.
The actor’s statement on Instagram read:
“A group of peaceful protesters, myself included, were arrested yesterday in Santa Monica,” Cole explained in a June 1 Instagram post.
“So before the voracious horde of media sensationalism decides to somehow turn it about me, there’s a clear need to speak about the circumstances: Black Lives Matter. Peace, riots, looting, are an absolutely legitimate form of protest. the media is by nature only going to show the most sensational, which only proves a long-standing racist agenda. I was detained when standing in solidarity, as were many of the final vanguard within Santa Monica.” — he added.
Other celebrities arrested during the protests included actress Jaime King who revealed in the early hours of June 3 that she, along with other women, had been arrested while protesting in Los Angeles.

The Hart of Dixie star, 41, along with her a group of friends were arrested by police outside Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti‘s house in Hancock Park.
“Currently arrested for a peaceful protest. Writing in handcuffs in back of bus. EVERYONE WAS PEACEFUL. – Jaime and the rest of my sisters on this bus. 77th precinct,” she tweeted at 1:37 am. So, far they haven’t been any other updates from the actress after her arrest.
