U.S. award winning and fashion icon Kanye West made his intentions clear yesterday after announced that he was interested in running for the office of the President of the United States of America.
The online world went crazy after the news broke out that Kim Kardashian’s bar, Kanye West had expressed interest in the oval office, which is one the most powerful seats in the world.
The American rapper in a tweet said, ‘We must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future. I am running for president of the United States! #2020VISION’
The musician turned fashion designer has also received support from Elon Musk whose Tesla company is currently the world’s most valuable car manufacturer being valued at $207 billion.
Many had been afraid that his announcement might have come late but considering that he will be running as an independent, the deadline has not yet been closed.

He has also received support from his wife Kim Kardashian West who quoted his tweet with the flag of the USA. Saturday’s announcement, which came amid Fourth of July celebrations and protests across the country, immediately caused a stir on social media.
Some have questioned the legitimacy of Kanye West’s intentions online with a few referencing to his Taylor Swift snap while members of the Black community said that they aren’t sure that they want someone in office who claimed: “Slavery was a choice”.

It was at the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards, that the rapper made his intentions of running for the presidential seat known saying he would run for president in 2020. But last November he pushed the date back, saying he would actually run in the 2024 contest.
At Fast Company’s Innovation Festival last year, Kanye said he would run in 2024 and that he was considering using the name Christian Genius Billionaire Kanye West.
The audience laughed at his statement then he replied back saying: “What y’all laughing at?” he said. “When I run for president in 2024 we would have created so many jobs I’m not going to run, I’m going to walk.”
Whether Mr. West will go forward with his plans to run for president considering he has support from fellow billionaire Elon Musk or not is something that we will have to wait and see should he actually apply for the running opportunity.
